Does your kid do 4H? Are you looking for a family pet? Welcome to our Art Project… Project. As a homeschooling family, we do everything together–including taking care of the animals around our hobby farm. This means that our 10-year-old and 7-year-old and 3-year-old (when the 3 year old feels like it) help take care of all of our animals. We’ve discovered that if they feel as if they contributed to the purchase of a pet that they feel more invested and responsible. So to help foster this in other kids and to selfishly obtain adorable drawings and such, we created the Art Project Discount!

How it Works: I simply ask for an age appropriate art project of any kind in exchange for a $25 discount off any adoption of a Holland Lop, Netherland Dwarf, Lionlop or Lionhead bunny rabbit. This can be a drawing, painting, mixed media, poem, short story, needle felting, handprint art, comic book page or whatever you dream up!

Who it’s For: Kids. Ultimately this is just to help kids feel more involved with their new bunny. It’s very easy to be excited when they are new and cute but then to lose that excitement as soon as they realize that cute ball of fluff is going to poop (a lot) and someone has to clean that up (…them). So this is just a little way for them to feel invested in the choice. BUT if you are in school in any way (looking at your college kids and back to school adults, and even teachers WITH kids…) then I probably would accept it. I just ask that you be respectful of the discount and don’t take advantage of my kindness and creativity.

Can I Do More Than One?: The discount is per bunny. If you have 2 kids and want 1 bunny, it is 1 discount (but I’d be happy to have art from them both if they so desire). If you have 4 kids and want 4 bunnies, you can get 4 discounts!
